Think of us as your “Manager of Solutions.” As an independent investment advisor we are a fiduciary, accountable to you. Our team is connected and focused on strategy and the solutions needed to strive to reach your goals. We believe in having discipline to adhere to our strategy, yet remain proactive in response to ever-changing market conditions and opportunities with the goal of protecting and enhancing the client’s portfolio.

A part of our unique investment approach is having the discipline to implement a strategy and remain nimble to take advantage of potential opportunities as they present themselves. The main objective is to look beyond simple stock and bond allocations. Focusing on an alternative process gives us the potential ability to reduce risk while attempting to increase return and income, independent of the volatility in the stock market.

  • Fixed Income
Seeking both the potential for immediate income and/or a reduction in portfolio risk by using various fixed income strategies.  Through an open architecture platform, we have identified several managers that buy bonds in the marketplace and place them in our client accounts at institutional, pricing. We also utilize mutual funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) to further diversify the fixed income allocation, sometimes in less volatile or opportunistic strategies that can help us to better control duration and credit risk.
  • Stock Strategies
Investing in the stock market can be overwhelming.  At Lido Advisors, we utilize qualitative and quantitative measurements in building our client portfolios; investing in the stock market utilizing exchange traded funds, mutual funds and independent managers that buy individual stocks. The goal is to add value to a traditional stock allocation by gaining additional performance, or decreased volatility–depending upon market conditions.
    • Core Equity: The foundation of the stock portfolio is driven by asset allocation decisions, accentuating stocks with a certain geography or market capitalization; and then consideration is given to economic cycles, momentum and fundamental drivers that may reveal tactical opportunities that warrant investment consideration.  The next step is choosing the best investment vehicle for the allocation–mutual fund, exchange traded fund, separate account manager or private investment offering.
    • Tactical Equity: Accompanying the core equity strategy, SectorStratTM is a tactical strategy that has the goal of adding value in the U.S. large capitalization stock universe.  This strategy utilizes low cost Exchange Traded Funds, and invests in different sectors of the economy based on factors such as momentum, quantitative and qualitative input.
  • Hedged Hybrid Equity Strategy
Lido’s proprietary investment strategy designed to provide exposure to equities with less risk than the overall stock market. This is an alternative investment strategy that is comparable to a “Hedge Fund-of-Funds” strategy, but comprised of mutual funds that have daily liquidity, greater transparency of holdings and often lower costs.  The goal of this “Mutual Fund-of-Funds” strategy is to reduce volatility and correlation amongst the funds with a strong oversight on volatility,  beta, and other statistical metrics.  These funds are monitored on a daily basis for investment changes, volatility level and other metrics to better assist us in our allocations.
  • Alternatives
Alternative assets are often utilized to help hedge against market risk, increase diversification or provide potential for added performance value to the portfolio.  These investments are varied and may include lower correlation to broad stock market averages. The liquid alternatives that can easily be bought and sold, often include mutual funds or ETF’s that invest in commodities, precious metals or other non stockmarket correlated assets. The less liquid alternatives may include investments in hedge funds, structured notes and debt instruments.

    These investments include:
    • Investments in First Trust Deeds, or Mortgage related instruments
    • Hedging strategies that include options
    • Mezzanine and Senior Debt
    • Limited partnerships with unique strategies

  • Real Estate
Thinking beyond just the public debt and equity markets, Lido Advisors believes that it’s important to expand the investment universe to “hard” assets. Owning direct real estate, or being the lender in real estate transactions, can provide diversification in the investment portfolio, and less reliance and correlation to the stock and bond markets.  In addition, these investments can  often provide monthly or quarterly income, as well as provide appreciation in the underlying asset.  Within this asset class, Lido Advisors identifies operators that specialize in the asset class type and geography in which they buy, or lend against real estate.

    These investments include:
    • Investments in First Trust Deeds, or Mortgage related instruments
    • Real Estate that includes opportunities in Office, Retail, Industrial, Multi-Family properties and Single Family Rental Pools
